Paragliding Competitions in Scotland in May 09
British Paragliding Cup - 9th to 12th of May 2009
Paragliding competition for British pilots and this is the only round within the year being held in Scotland and based around Tibbie Shiels. For more details please see this Link. Scottish pilots competing in this competition can also opt to be considered for the Scottish Open.
British Open Paragliding Championship - 13th to 16th of May 2009
For more details please feel free to follow this link. This is the highest level free flying competition to come to Scotland for 12 years - (a FAI Category II competition) where pilots are competing for World ranking points. This is also to be based at Tibbie Shiels.
Slightly more generic information
We've 8 days of top level competition starting with registration for the BP Cup / Scottish Open this Friday Night, and going on till the last task and Prizegiving for the British Championship on Saturday 16th.
There's a BP Cup buffet on Sunday night, Hog Roast on Tuesday, and Championship Buffet on the Friday. Apart from normal meals (sit in and carry out ) the Hotel (Tibbie Shiels Inn) will be doing packed lunches and BBQ packs to order.
And for those who like some music - We are also having an "Open Mike - Jam Session " where a very well known local band may make a guest appearance !
