Scottish Nationals Paragliding Series
The last round of this years competition was hosted by The Ochils Club on the 14th and 15th October 06
Day 1 -Saturday Myreton - near Menstrie.
Once everyone was up the hill, (most wings being carried up by the the one allowed 4*4) Tony briefed everyone comprehensively with an open distance task set. Tony also clearly reminded everyone of disallowed landing fields.
The conditions were however less than ideal with a bit too much East for the hills to be working at their best, however some people made it to near The Wallace Monument but I dont know who the task winner was yet. I do know however that Cliff, Brian and Zeno and one other person all went to a hill near Dollar and Brian at least did about 20km passing Myreton again and then also onto the monument - well done, this of course probably won`t count for the competition though :-(
In the evening Tina and Gordon were superb hosts to a group of 10, with lots of beer, food and great chat, followed by everyone "dossing" very comfortably down and to top that on Sunday morning- a perfect breakfast - Thankyou very much.

Day 2 - Near Ben Lawers - near Killin.
The forecast was good however in the real world there was just a light mist and no wind to speak of. After some time a task was set by a committe consisting of Brian Steele, Cliff Smith, Mike Jardine, Dave Thomson and George McGhee. This involved a forward launch 2 turnpoints - the trees and the "tennis racket" and then hopefully a spot landing on a blue glider stuff sack sheet provided by Logan Nisbet. No one was spot on however overall series winner Kenny Cooper was closest to the target.
